THIS Wednesday: Council Candidate Forum at the Brewery (1st District). doors open 6:00

Dear Neighbors:

East Kensington rests largely within the 1st City Council District. After decades in the position, Frank DiCicco is yielding his council seat.

4 persons are contending for the 1st district office.  * http://www.seventy.org/Elections_City_Council_Districts_and_Candidates_ataglance.aspx#district1

EKNA is organizing a forum night for the candidates.

A series of questions will be presented to the candidates which reflect the issues facing the East Kensington area and the City as a whole.

Please join us for this most important evening. You’ll hear these potential leaders share their perspective on the future of our Neighborhood.

This is a fine chance to make sure the Neighborhood’s issues and special energy are recognized.

Likely topics include the new Zoning Code, community policing, vacant land disposition, L+I enforcement, urban farming, smart development, funding for local initiatives, transit oriented development, creation of new parks, protection of existing sacred spaces,  local watershed protection and hydraulic ‘fracking’.

Spread the word to neighbors and friends.

Forum begins at 6:30

See you there.
