This is the EKNA General Meeting- held at the Philadelphia Brewing Company (PBC) at Martha and Hagert Sts.  in the 2nd floor tasting room.

2010 East Kensington Neighbors Association (EKNA) Cleanup Schedule

Regular cleanups are scheduled for the second Saturday in each month or to coincide with Philadelphia More Beautiful cleanup days.  If you are unable to join the group effort, try to clean your block during that week.  Trash will be stored in the Emerald Street Park (Emerald between Dauphin and Arizona) Cleanups will begin at 10 AM.  EKNA will supply trash bags and some tools, we encourage you to bring gloves, brooms and rakes if you have them.   NO HOUSHOLD TRASH, BULK ITEMS OR TIRES.

We have left several months OPEN to allow more flexibility in the schedule.  We may choose to work with other groups or respond to requests for help.  Any requests should be made at least one month prior to an open month in order to make announcements.

Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee (PMBC) cleanups are community wide cleanup days. .  April 10^th , May 22^nd and July 31^st The city sends special trash trucks on these days and we can get rid of bulky items. Please take advantage of this free service and clean your block.  Trash should be placed on the nearest corner of Emerald or Coral Streets before noon.  EKNA will not pick up trash bags on PMBC cleanup days.

There will be a special cleanup of Trenton Avenue before the Trenton Ave Arts Fest on Saturday May 11 ^th and Friday evening May 21^st (additional details will be announced)

March 13          -   Amber Street starting at Frankford moving North (Meet at Quick Stop)

April 10            -    Around large open lots at York and Emerald (Meet at York/Emerald)

May   15/21      -    CLEANUP FOR THE ARTS FEST (Meet at Bella Sera Café)

June                  -    Open

July 31              -    Philadelphia More Beautiful Cleanup Day (Open)

August              -    Annual Tire Roundup (date and details to be announced)

September 11   -     Jasper from Cumberland moving North (meet at Cumberland/Jasper)

October 9         -     First Blocks off Front and Kensington beginning at Dauphin

(Meet at Emerald Park)

November        -     Open

NOTE: Cleanups will not be rescheduled for inclement weather or snow cover.  We will clean in the cold.  Please print this list and hand it out to your neighbors.  Please move your car if we are cleaning your street.
