Community Legal Services provides free legal resources to income eligible residents at the Kensington Engagement Center every third Thursday of the month from 12:30PM-2:30PM! CLS will have a lawyer on site to support community members with issues such as criminal records, wage theft, employment discrimination, and more!

If you need support understanding your rights at work, want to explore clearing a criminal record, or are experiencing an employment law issue, this is a resource for you!

These variance requests can range from a request to change the zoning of a single parcel from commercial to residential, or allowing hundreds of new units in the neighborhood. After hearing developers’ proposals, residents can vote “yes” or “no” to the proposal. These voting results will then be sent to the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA), which will ultimately decide whether to grant the developers’ request for relief. Our community vote, while not legally binding, has some influence and is considered by the ZBA, and is thus a crucial tool of the neighborhood to show support or opposition to developments within our neighborhood boundaries.

This meeting is open to all East Kensington residents and business owners. Proof of residency required to vote (driver’s license, passport, or utility bill. No exceptions.)

The 17th annual Kensington Kinetic Derby and Arts Festival is back! Philadelphia’s most unique and energetic human-powered road race returns on Saturday, October 25th, 2025. Come out for an incredible celebration of art, community, and of course, MUD!

We’ll have a beautiful pumpkin patch where you can find your perfect pumpkin, as well as a decorating station where you can create a cute (or spooky) masterpiece.
